Staffing Update
We are excited to share that Jill Brandt will be our CCT teacher. Jill has worked at MVS for the past five years in a variety of roles. She has supported our early learners in developing their reading and math skills, as well as helped onboard students who are new to Canada and have had limited formal schooling experiences. Jill is a trauma-informed and culturally responsive leader in our building, and we look forward to having her in this CCT position.
Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.
The sessions are designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Additional session details are available here: Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series.

A Note from the Learning Commons
Hello Mount View Community!
After taking a few weeks to settle into a routine and practice navigating the Learning Commons book collection, we will begin book borrowing next week!
This note is just a friendly reminder that your favourite Mount View student will have the opportunity to borrow one or two books for one week. They will have the option to keep their books at school or bring them home to read. At the end of the one-week loan period, students return their items and choose new ones. If a student forgets their book at home, they will be able to return it anytime (there’s a return slot in the Learning Commons they can use when I’m not around) and borrow a new book at the next convenient opportunity.
In the unfortunate event that a book is lost or irreparably damaged, we do charge a pro-rated fee to replace the book. This is a rare occurrence and, in every case, we simply want our book back. We never want to collect money and we never want to discourage kids from borrowing books. We simply want to let every student learn how to responsibly borrow and care for our book collection.

Terry Fox Run
Mount View School is proud to take part in this year's Terry Fox's "Finish it" Run. Our run this year will take place on Thursday, September 24 from approximately 9:15-10:15. This year we will be running in our school field. Please consider donating to Mount View School Online Fundraising Page: https://schools.terryfox.ca/136521, or bring in a Toonie for Terry on September 24th. Thank you for supporting our school in the fight against cancer and continuing Terry’s legacy!
