Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you to everyone who came to talk to your student's teacher(s) during our conferences on Thursday evening and Friday morning. It is always wonderful to see parents in the school and to connect during these times. We hope that everyone enjoyed their time and that students enjoy their long weekend.

Terry Fox Update 

The annual Terry Fox Run has become a classic Canadian tradition every fall with more than 650 diverse communities across the country coming together to fundraise for cancer research. Congratulations Mount View School! We raised $1297 for the Terry Fox Foundation. We had a great time running for Terry at Munro Park. We look forward to this event again next year. Thank-you to everyone who supported this fundraiser for cancer research. 

Safety 

When dropping your student off, and picking them up, please use the crosswalk. We cannot ensure the safety of everyone when people are jay-walking to get to school. The area in front of the school is very busy and proper use of the crosswalk, ensures that all pedestrians are visible. 

Please also do not cut through the parking lot at any time. This is also a busy space with cars backing up and limited space to do so. Drivers do not expect to have pedestrians crossing through this area and this poses a safety risk. Please ensure you are always walking around the perimeter of the school and not through the parking lot.   

Jacket Racket – please donate winter outerwear  

Jacket Racket has been providing clean, gently used winter jackets to Calgary children since the 1980’s. The project runs every year from mid-October to mid-November. Coats, snow pants, hats and mittens are collected, sorted and distributed by a group of dedicated volunteers. The distribution is done through the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District.  

Mount View School is collecting only in the month of October! 

Leave your donations in the bin just inside the main doors of the school. Thank you so much.

Spirit Wear 

All confirmation emails have been sent to those who placed clothing orders.  Please let us know if you placed an order but did not receive an email.  Review your order and send payment as soon as possible.  All funds must be collected before we can submit the order for printing. 

Purdy’s 

The Purdy’s Holiday Chocolate Fundraiser is back by popular demand! All proceeds go to the Mount View Home and School Association general account, which is used to pay for school items that the casino funds are not allowed to be used for. MVHSA gets 25% of sales to spend on your kiddos, you get delicious chocolate made in Canada from sustainable cocoa!
