Weekly News November 3, 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today was a very special day here at MVS. A Cree Elder, Jackie, came to spend a portion of the morning with us. She taught us about the seasons, solstice and taught us traditional dances. We are so grateful for the experiences we have had with Jackie and the teachings that she has offered us.
Informational Items:
School Council Meeting
Please note that due to Fall Break our November School Council meeting has been cancelled. Our next School Council meeting will be in December.
Safety
When dropping your student off, and picking them up, please use the crosswalk. We cannot ensure the safety of everyone when people are jay-walking to get to school. The area in front of the school is very busy and proper use of the crosswalk, ensures that all pedestrians are visible.
Please also do not cut through the parking lot at any time. This is also a busy space with cars backing up and limited space to do so. Drivers do not expect to have pedestrians crossing through this area and this poses a safety risk. Please ensure you are always walking around the perimeter of the school and not through the parking lot.
Fall Photos
If you have questions about your fall photo status or how to place orders, please call the Lifetouch Customer Care line at 1.866.457.8212 or go to their ordering website www.mylifetouch.ca which also has a live chat option.
NEW Way of accessing your child’s images online: Lifetouch Photography is excited to announce the launch of a new way to access photos online. After much safety and security testing, Lifetouch developed a way for families to access their child’s photo using their student ID number. Go to their website at www.mylifetouch.ca, click on Student ID and follow the detailed instructions to view and order photos. If you have any questions on this ordering process, please call the Lifetouch Customer Care Line at 1.866.457.8212 or access the live chat on the website.
Parents can still access their photos online by using their child’s portrait ID and access code. By enabling the option of using your child’s student ID number, it gives people another way to access photos if they lose their proof sheet.
