Weekly News November 17, 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This week our students celebrated Metis week by painting, drumming, singing and learning traditional Metis stories. We love walking through the halls and hearing students sharing connections with their own cultures during all of these learning opportunities.
Thank you to all of you who have donated winter clothing to Jacket Racket and thank you Heather, our volunteer driver who delivered it to the organization! We truly appreciate that you dropped off our donation and then shared photos with us.
Informational Items:
Winter Dance Festival
Save the date! Sound Kreations will be coming to work with our students and teach them how to dance. The dance festival will showcase the students’ hard work, dedication and perseverance. It is sure to be a high energy event!
The performances (afternoon and evening) will be on December 7, 2023. More information, and access to tickets, to follow.
Safety
When dropping your student off, and picking them up, please use the crosswalk. We cannot ensure the safety of everyone when people are jay-walking to get to school. The area in front of the school is very busy and proper use of the crosswalk, ensures that all pedestrians are visible.
Please also do not cut through the parking lot at any time. This is also a busy space with cars backing up and limited space to do so. Drivers do not expect to have pedestrians crossing through this area and this poses a safety risk. Please ensure you are always walking around the perimeter of the school and not through the parking lot.
Important dates for November:
November 24: Non-Instructional Day – no school for students
November 28: Fun Lunch (orders due 5 days ahead)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Tejinder and
Allyson
