Dear Parents and Guardians,
Mount View School is completely a-buzz with all things spring! This does, of course, include soccer out in the field. Team sports offer so many powerful lessons for our students-comradery, patience and dealing with conflict. It is wonderful to be outside and hear the sounds of everyone playing well together.

Mount View School students participate in this event annually.
Did you know building healthy habits today helps reduce kids’ risk of heart disease and stroke later in life? Jump teaches students the EASY Healthy Habits to help protect their heart and brain health – for life!

Urgent Call for Leadership – School Council AGM, May 13
Our current School Council executive is stepping down, and we urgently need new leaders to step forward. While we’re grateful to have some fantastic volunteers already in place, at least one critical role remains unfilled – and without it, the council cannot function effectively next year.
We need your help – NOW!
Chair – Leads meetings and sets the agenda (approx. 1 hour/week). No prior experience needed! We’ll provide full support, training, and a smooth transition.
Vice-Chair (nice to have but not critical) – Supports the Chair and is ready to step in when needed. A vital role that ensures continuity and strength in our leadership.
Both positions are essential to keeping the School Council running and ensuring parent voices remain central in shaping our children’s school experience.
New to this? No problem.
Training is available through the Alberta School Councils’ Association (ASCA), and outgoing members are here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Dads – we need YOU!
Let’s be real – our School Council is short on Dad-power. Your perspective matters, and your involvement can make a huge impact. Whether you bring leadership skills or legendary dad jokes, we need you at the table. Don’t let the moms do it all—step up and show your kids what community involvement looks like.
Interested or have questions?
Reach out to us at mountviewschoolcouncil@gmail.com – we’re happy to chat.
Let’s make sure our School Council continues strong into the next year. Join us at the AGM on May 13 – your leadership could make all the difference.
