Dear Parents/Guardians,
We had a fantastic week filled with amazing learning activities across all our classes, bringing plenty of new experiences and knowledge to our students.
As many of you have noticed, the weather in
Calgary has been quite unpredictable this week. With spring in the air, we've
seen everything from sunshine to snow flurries, typical Calgary weather. As the
weather continues to change, we kindly remind you to check the daily forecast
and ensure your children come to school dressed appropriately for the weather
conditions.
New Information:
“Heelies”, Roller skate shoes
We have noticed an increase in students wearing
heelie shoes to school. Although they are fun, they pose a
safety risk for students and are ruining the floors at the school. If you could
please not send these shoes to school with your student, we would appreciate
that. We ask that all students wear shoes with non-marking soles, no wheels and
that are appropriate for gym class.
Mount View Run Club is Back
Run club has started again for the Spring! We meet on Tuesdays
after eating lunch in the gym. We run on the far end of the school field or at
Munro Park. If you would like to volunteer for this lunch club please email hmburger@cbe.ab.ca

Volunteers needed for Learning on the Land – May 22, Wednesday
We are thrilled to share that we are organizing a learning on the Land Day experience for our entire
school community at Nose Hill Park, a site of great historical significance in
Calgary, traditionally known as Mohkinstsis. The name "Mohkinstsis,"
which in Blackfoot means "elbow," refers to the Elbow River,
underscoring the area's deep-rooted connection to Indigenous heritage. This
land-based learning experience is an exceptional opportunity for our students
to delve into Indigenous worldviews and explore traditional ways of knowing,
being, and doing. We believe that by understanding and connecting with the
places we live, students can achieve a balanced and enriched perspective. We
look forward to an enriching day of exploration and learning and would like
your support as volunteers on this day. We have divided the day into two
sections – Div 1 for the morning and Div 2 for the afternoon. Please
contact your classroom teacher or Admin for your interest in volunteering.
