Dear Parents/Guardians,

May is a busy month filled with field trips and ample opportunities for outdoor learning for students. This week, our grade 1/2 classes visited the zoo and had an amazing experience learning about animals. They were excited to see a wide variety of creatures, from the smallest insects to the largest mammals. Their favorite story is about the gorilla, and they were fascinated by both the little and big creatures.

With almost six weeks left before our summer break, please contact the school if you plan to move out of the designated area or if your child's sibling will be joining us and you need assistance with the registration process.

Over the year the office has accumulated a large collection of smaller lost items. Please check the photos sent in the weekly message and if anything belongs to you, please contact the office. Thank you.

REMINDER: NO SCHOOL TOMORROW (May17) and MONDAY (May 20)

We wish you a wonderful and relaxing long weekend!

Volunteers needed for Learning on the Land – May 22, Wednesday

We are thrilled to share that we are organizing a learning on the Land Day experience for our entire school community at Nose Hill Park, a site of great historical significance in Calgary, traditionally known as Mohkinstsis. The name "Mohkinstsis," which in Blackfoot means "elbow," refers to the Elbow River, underscoring the area's deep-rooted connection to Indigenous heritage. This land-based learning experience is an exceptional opportunity for our students to delve into Indigenous worldviews and explore traditional ways of knowing, being, and doing. We believe that by understanding and connecting with the places we live, students can achieve a balanced and enriched perspective. We look forward to an enriching day of exploration and learning and would like your support as volunteers on this day. We have divided the day into two sections – Div 1 for the morning and Div 2 for the afternoon. Please contact your classroom teacher or Admin for your interest in volunteering.
