Students this week were invited to wear their hats in solidarity with ‘Hats On Mental Health’ day! This was enjoyed by all who participated as the rules within school don’t normally allow students to wear their hats within the building.
The 5’s and 6’s participated in a day of learning at Glenbow Provincial Park. Students arrived back at the school with smiles on their faces and legs that were tired from exertion throughout the day. Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who accompanied us and to parent council for supporting our field trip!
On Monday the grade 1’s and 2’s are going to the zoo! The forecast is currently calling for light showers on and off throughout the day. Please be sure to have your child dress for the weather in appropriate layers, hat and shoes that are good for walking. In addition to weather dependent clothes, please also pack a water bottle, lunch and additional snacks.
New Information:
“Heelies”, Roller skate shoes
We have noticed an increase in students wearing heelie shoes to school. Although they are fun, they pose a safety risk for students and are ruining the floors at the school. If you could please not send these shoes to school with your student, we would appreciate that. We ask that all students wear shoes with non-marking soles, no wheels and that are appropriate for gym class.
Mount View Run Club is Back

Volunteers needed for Learning on the Land – May 22, Wednesday
We are thrilled to share that we are organizing a learning on the Land Day experience for our entire school community at Nose Hill Park, a site of great historical significance in Calgary, traditionally known as Mohkinstsis. The name "Mohkinstsis," which in Blackfoot means "elbow," refers to the Elbow River, underscoring the area's deep-rooted connection to Indigenous heritage. This land-based learning experience is an exceptional opportunity for our students to delve into Indigenous worldviews and explore traditional ways of knowing, being, and doing. We believe that by understanding and connecting with the places we live, students can achieve a balanced and enriched perspective. We look forward to an enriching day of exploration and learning and would like your support as volunteers on this day. We have divided the day into two sections – Div 1 for the morning and Div 2 for the afternoon. Please contact your classroom teacher or Admin for your interest in volunteering.
