Weekly News January 26, 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians,

What a fun week we had! The weather was nice enough to play outside, the snow was sticky enough to build with AND our students participated in curling bonspiels. We sure packed a lot of fun into one week!

Please note that our gymnastics unit will resume next week in gym class and students need to be dressed appropriately to participate.

Informational Items:

MVS is Nut Aware

Mount View School is a nut aware school - peanut and nut products are allowed unless there is a student in your child's class who has a severe allergy to these types of foods.

You must notify us if your child has any type of allergies, especially if they are life threatening, otherwise we would not be aware of this. If a classroom has students with allergies, the home room teacher will notify the classroom community of what types of products are to be avoided in lunches.

If your child has an allergy that we need to be aware of, please fill out the student health forms (attached)and return to the office and notify the teacher.

Safety

When dropping your student off, and picking them up, please use the crosswalk. We cannot ensure the safety of everyone when people are jaywalking to get to school. The area in front of the school is very busy and proper use of the crosswalk, ensures that all pedestrians are visible.

Please also do not cut through the parking lot at any time. This is also a busy space with cars backing up and limited space to do so. Drivers do not expect to have pedestrians crossing through this area and this poses a safety risk. Please ensure you are always walking around the perimeter of the school and not through the parking lot.

Important upcoming dates:

January 30 – Fun Lunch (orders due 5 days before on healthyhunger.ca)

January 30 – Report Cards available on PowerSchool

February 9 – Enrichment Celebration (more details to come)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Tejinder and Allyson
