Dear Parents and Guardians,
We were excited to see all of our students returning from their long weekend.
We were disappointed to have to cancel our Sound Kreations Residency due to unforeseen circumstances. Our students have demonstrated resiliency. They enjoyed their physical education blocks mostly outside this week with Ms. Burger and have shown understanding and empathy.
With the cancelation of our residency, we are also cancelling our concert on May 1st.
As the weather gets warmer, please remember to pack a water bottle and hat for your student. Putting sunscreen or bug spray on in the morning is also a great idea! Physical Education classes are typically outside when the weather warms up.
HOLD THE DATE for Activity Day 2025!
Thursday June 19th starting outside at 10:30am
(Alternative rain day Tuesday June 24th)

School Council AGM – May 13
The current School Council will be stepping down, and while we’ve had some fantastic volunteers step up for some of the roles, we’re still looking for candidates to fill two key positions:
Chair: Responsible for setting the agenda and leading meetings (about 1 hour per week). No experience necessary – we’ll ensure a smooth handover and provide plenty of support during the transition.
Vice-Chair: Supports the Chair, steps in when needed, and is ready to take over the Chair role when the time comes.
Training is available for all new School Council Members through Alberta School Council Associations (ASCA).
Attention Dads: Our school council is seriously lacking Dad representation! We need your wit, wisdom, and maybe even a few dad jokes to help balance the team. Share your perspective, get involved, and make a real difference. Don’t leave it all up to the Moms! Put down the remote, take a break from the lawnmower, and join us. The kids (and the school) will be grateful!
If you're interested or want more details, feel free to reach out at mountviewschoolcouncil@gmail.com.
The School Council is all about ensuring parent voices are heard in decision-making and fostering collaboration to enhance the school environment and improve student outcomes.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM!
