Dear Mount View Families,
As the weather continues to cool down, please ensure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the colder temperatures. We head outside twice each day, and students will need warm winter gear, including hats, mittens, jackets, snow pants, and snow boots. Thank you for helping your child stay warm and comfortable during outdoor time!
With the changing weather, we also appreciate your support in keeping our school clean and safe. Please remind your child to remove their outdoor footwear at the door on the carpet when they enter the building. We kindly ask that adults model this as well by removing shoes or boots upon entering. Your partnership makes a big difference, and we truly appreciate it!
Finally, the safety of our students and families is always a top priority. When dropping off or picking up your child, please be mindful of traffic safety rules. We ask that families use the designated crosswalks and remain attentive to traffic when crossing the street. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and watch carefully for pedestrians at all times. Curbside parking in front of the school is permitted; however, please ensure your vehicle is parked at a safe distance from the curb to help protect those walking along the sidewalk.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in helping keep our school community safe, clean, and comfortable for everyone!
Tax receipts available
Guardians receive a tax receipt for lunch supervision fees paid as this qualifies as a childcare expense. Please log into your MyCBE/Powerschool account, open the Fees app and find your receipt from the Menu in the top right corner.
If you need help with your MyCBE/Powerschool account, please contact the office.
Unpaid school fees from 2024-25 school year
The unpaid 2024-25 lunch supervision and transportation fees will be sent to collections in February/March 2026. Please check your MyCBE/Powerschool account to see what fees are due for your students.
Families can avoid having their account sent to collections by:
Paying their 2024–25 central fees in full, or
Applying, and being approved, for a 2024–25 Central Fee Waiver. Student Fees is currently offering extensions for the 2024–25 waiver until June 30, 2026.
Requesting a Payment Plan by contacting StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca. A payment plan requires a signed commitment to pay a minimum of $20 per month toward 2024–25 central fees.
Please visit these websites for more information about fees and waivers. The website can be translated by clicking the icon in the top right corner.
Report cards
Report cards will be available for viewing online on February 24, 2026. Report cards are only available through your MyCBE/Powerschool account, the school does not provide paper copies. You may choose to download and print a copy for your records.
Donation to Mount View School
If you would like to make a direct donation to support Mount View School please go through Education Matters. Currently we are running a campaign to support our LEAD students participating in fieldtrips with their Community Classrooms. We aim to raise $3000 to support students by removing financial barriers to meaningful outdoor learning. Many families face challenges providing winter clothing or covering field‑trip costs, which can limit participation in valuable experiences. Funds raised will ensure every student can join our outdoor adventures—exploring nature, building leadership skills, and strengthening community—fully equipped, warm, and included. All donations, with Education Matters, over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. Also, some corporate companies will donation match – remember to ask your workplace if this is possible.
