Dear Parents/Guardians,
This week, students participated in swimming lessons at the Renfrew Pool. Classes were joined by parent volunteers who helped them walk to and from as well as supported in needs arising in the changerooms and to ensure student safety. Thank you so much to our volunteers for making our swimming lessons so successful.
We also want to recognize and pass our deepest gratitude along to our parent council. Without your support, these lessons would not be possible. The importance of learning to swim and be safe in the water is so valuable and we truly appreciate your support in funding this opportunity for all students.
On Thursday, Renfrew Pool received a phone call from Alberta Health Services that concluded in some of our classes missing their lessons that day. The water in the pool did not have adequate chlorine levels as there can be large fluctuations overnight and into the morning. The situation took a half hour to rectify, and the classes scheduled during that time were flexible and understanding. Thank you to Renfrew Pool and Alberta Health Services for communicating this with us and for choosing to cancel those lessons to keep our students safe.

Parent engagement plays a critical role in the success of the school community by contributing knowledge, perspective and ideas at school council meetings. School councils allow parents to participate in decisions that impact student learning.
All parents & guardians are welcome and encouraged to join the monthly SC meetings. The virtual meeting option literally means you can participate from the couch in your pyjamas while watching TV.
MVSC has two open positions we are looking to fill at the AGM:
